Launched in September ’08, the Samsung i900 is a Touchscreen Windows Mobile Smartphone. It boasts both HSDPA and Wi-Fi, providing high-speed web-access. The Samsung i900 comes pre-installed with Opera Mobile 9.5. The latter makes browsing of full web pages possible and allows users to zoom in and out of pages by tapping of fingers on the screen. It is believed to be one of the most responsive Windows Mobile Touchscreen devices in the market.

The phone’s Windows Mobile interface is finger-friendly, complete with shortcut menus and numerous icons. This makes if convenient for users to navigate their way around the phone’s features and functions. The Samsung i900 is a Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional and given that it provides most of the Microsoft features, including Office/Exchange support and document editing applications. It provides for mobile IM solution with the Windows Messenger.

The large 3.2 inch touchscreen makes typing of messages convenient, using the tailored on-screen keypad. The handset is equipped with an internal accelerometer sensor providing auto-rotate function and an optical track-pad. Handwriting recognition is a unique feature that has been integrated into the phone.

The phone boasts of a 5MP auto-focus camera with a unique smile detection feature. It also comprises of an image stabilizer and has an LED flash. The Video player formats include MPEG4, Xvid and DivX. Media playing capability of the phone supports most audio formats and the user can program the music player to work with just one touch. An 8 MB shared storage, with an expandable 16MB microSD makes sure space never runs out on the Samsung i900. The Samsung i900 also has an A-GPS enabled navigation system and supports applications like Google Maps.
